Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hanes4Education program?

Hanes4Education enables K-12 schools to earn cash rebates on orders of Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash printed apparel purchased in bulk through suppliers. This includes printed T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts and joggers purchased through suppliers for events, team uniforms, corporate apparel, work shirts and sorority and fraternities

How does the program work?

Schools can earn cash when they, or someone in the community, orders printed Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash shirts from a local supplier and submits the Rebate Form to Hanes4Education. For each shirt ordered, schools can earn $0.10. The process is simple:

  • Complete the Rebate Form
  • Submit the form along with the invoice from the supplier showing that Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash printed shirts were purchased to Hanes4Education
  • Designated school receives a check within 4-6 weeks of submission (check value must be at least $10.00)
What if my rebate check is less than $10.00?

To avoid sending multiple small value checks throughout the year, Hanes4Education is requiring that a school earn at least $10.00 (100 shirts) before a check is issued. For schools with small orders, these orders will accumulate until the $10.00 check minimum is reached. On December 1, all schools who did not reach the minimum will be sent checks even if that amount is less than $10.00.

Who fills out the Rebate Form?

The Rebate Form can be completed by the purchaser or by the recipient school. Or your supplier can complete and submit the Rebate Form on your behalf.

How much cash can my school earn from my order of printed shirts?

With Hanes4Education, schools can earn $0.10 for every Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash printed shirt that you order. If you order 100 T-shirts, your designated school will receive a rebate check for $10.00. The same formula applies for polo shirts and sweatshirts. A maximum of $500 (5,000 printed shirts) can be earned per order, and a school may earn a maximum of $5,000 from the Hanes4Education™ program per calendar year. Rebate requests in excess of this maximum will not carry over to the following calendar year.

I have two schools that I would like to support. Can they both earn a cash rebate from my purchase?

Invoices can only be used once to support a rebate payment for a single school. Duplicate invoice submissions are not allowed. However, if you have multiple invoices, each invoice can go to a different school.

How long do I have to submit the Rebate Form?

Rebate Forms must be submitted within a year of the invoice date to qualify.

How do I find a supplier in my area?

Suppliers such as screenprinters and promotional products companies are listed in the Yellow Pages or you can go online. When you order T-shirts, polo shirts or sweatshirts, be sure that you get a printed invoice/receipt indicating that you ordered Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash® products and the quantity that you purchased.

A local organization is ordering T-shirts for their upcoming 5K race. Can our school earn cash for their purchase?

Yes! Any business, organization, or event that orders Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash printed shirts from suppliers can earn cash for their favorite K-12 schools.

How can our school get the community involved in the Hanes4Education program?

Any local business or organization – businesses, teams, sororities, fraternities, community organizations, churches, etc. – can support local schools with purchases they are already making by donating their invoices to local schools. The Rebate Form can be completed by the purchaser or the school.

How do I designate a recipient school?

Designating a K-12 school to receive the Hanes4Education cash rebate is easy. On the Rebate Form, you first choose the state in the Select School State field and then begin typing the school name in the Select Your School Here field. If your school is not listed, you have the option of entering your school information – School Name, School Address, City, State, Zip Code and Phone Number are all required. Additionally, we recommend providing your school’s EIN number (the unique Tax ID # associated with your school) if available to expedite the verification process. Public and private K-12 schools registered with the appropriate state agency are eligible to participate in Hanes4Education.

I have multiple orders. Can I submit all of them with one Rebate Form?

Only one order can be submitted per Rebate Form. You will need to submit a new Rebate Form for each order. To attach an invoice/receipt to the online Rebate Form, click the Choose File button on your computer, browse for the file (needs to be JPEG, PDF or TIF format), select it and click Open. If your invoice has multiple files, you should attach all of them (individual file size cannot exceed 5MB). There is a limit of 20MB for the total attachments.

When I purchase qualified shirts in bulk from a supplier, is there any minimum or maximum order?

There is no minimum order. However, the school will only receive a rebate check once their orders have exceeded 100 shirts ($10.00) or December 1, whichever comes first. Additionally, there is a maximum of $500 (5,000 shirts) that can be earned per order.

What if my supplier does not sell Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® or ComfortWash products?

Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash are top-selling brands of T-shirts and other printed apparel, so suppliers can easily order products from these brands. Be sure to confirm with your supplier in advance that they are using Hanes®, Champion®, Alternative® and ComfortWash® products.

What do I need in order for my designated school to receive a cash rebate?

Complete the Hanes4Education Rebate Form and submit along with a copy of your invoice/receipt via the Hanes4Education website. (Please note that packing slips, order tracking forms or work orders do not serve as an invoice/receipt. If you are unsure if a form is an invoice, please ask your supplier for confirmation.)

  • Name of supplier
  • Date of purchase
